Questions for FAQ
For only $595.00 We Do The Following:
Q: Why should I file a FAFSA?
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is available to all families and is the only way to obtain student or parent loans to pay for college. Even if you think you won’t qualify for aid, if you want access to these loans you will need to complete the FAFSA.
Q: I don’t think I’ll qualify for any aid, should I still file?
Some schools and scholarships require you to file the FAFSA (and other financial aid document/forms) to be considered for any type of aid. Do your research to make sure you know which schools have this requirement. Even if you think you won’t qualify for aid, if you want access to student and parent loans you will need to complete the FAFSA.
Q: What happens if my student decides she doesn’t want to apply to one of the schools you filed financial aid for?
All information stays within FAFSA, nothing gets sent to the school until the school requests the information. If your student doesn’t end up applying to one of the schools we filed for, the school will simply not go to FAFSA to create an award package for him/her.
Q: What if my student wants to add schools to their list after you have filed financial aid?
We can easily file for any additional schools after we receive a signed document stating which schools your student would like to add on to their FAFSA.
Q: When will you file financial aid for my student?
We can guarantee that we will meet your student’s financial aid deadlines ONLY if you send us all of the necessary information we need 2 weeks prior to your student’s earliest financial aid deadlines.
Q: What is the CSS Profile?
The CSS Profile is an additional financial aid form that many private schools require. The Profile is filed through the College Board and there is a registration fee of $9.00 plus an additional $16.00 per school. This fee is not charged by 360 Planner, but by College Board. If you would like more information about the CSS Profile please click here: CSS Profile
Q: How does each school you file for receive our financial information?
Financial aid is filed through FAFSA or the CSS Profile and all of the financial information you submit will stay within those sites; nothing gets sent to your student’s schools. When the schools your student applied to are ready to look at financial aid for them, they will go to the appropriate site to look at your financials and come up with an award package for your student.
Q: What happens after you file financial aid for our students?
After financial aid filing is complete, your student will need to keep a close eye on their email and college portals in case their schools request any additional information. If they do request more information, it is up to you to notify us so we can take care of it.
Q: What is IDOC?
IDOC is the Institutional Document Service through which some CSS Profile schools require documents to be uploaded. If you have IDOC requirements to fulfill you will receive an email notification. Although we help manage the IDOC process, it is critical that you monitor and forward any email notifications received to 360 Planner. Some items that may be requested are Non-Tax Filer’s Statement, Dependent Verification form, farm and/or business supplements, tax documents, and others.
